Midwest Region Prayer April 24, 2020 (1)

5/4/2020

The Midwest Regional CWM had a prayer meeting on April 24, 2020 via Zoom. (That is a miracle in and of itself.) The meeting was opened by reading form Jesus Calling the entry for April 22 which talked about our need to continually listen to God. Then each person who was given a ‘word’ shared with the group their thoughts, scripture support and a prayer. What an awesome time in the Lord! Each person has provided a summary of what they shared. I pray you will continue to ‘chew’ on what was shared.

2. Word – Peace - Cherie Stott

Galatians 5:22  “I leave the gift of Peace with you, My Peace, not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but My perfect Peace.  Don’t yield to fear in your hearts, instead, be courageous!” He said this to his anxious disciples right before He died.  And He said to them when He appeared in the room after He had risen: “Peace be with you.”

In a recent book study on Solitude and Silence, our group all came to the conclusion that the chapter on the mind spoke to all of us on the difficulty to quiet our minds.  In the scripture it spoke to me about how hard it is to not be a “doer” to have my mind peaceful, but to allow God to give me His Peace “that passes all my understanding”.  It’s a gift I don’t have to work for.  He even told me that I need to recognize when I’m working too hard to quiet my mind, and try “experiencing” His Peace…..like when we experience a beautiful sunset, or the fragrance of flowers, or the warmth of the sun on my face.  I’m getting better at receiving the gifts He gives and not trying to explain to myself why I can or can’t have them.  Cherie
